Thought-Sherds (It's a play on words, you know, "potsherds'' the little Earthenware fragments that Archaeologists find, with scriptures, notes, and things written on them,.... well if you have to explain it...... it's not so funny anymore)

21.
Jesus Learned Obedience through the things he Suffered -(Heb 5:8)
We're all familiar with this passage, but really, what were the things he suffered that he learned Obedience from ? And what kind of Obedience did he learn ?
Well, let's put on our little "thinking caps" (make sure you make the little propeller spin on top. Thinking Caps always have propellers, ev'rbody knows that) and let's do some thinking.........
Although Jesus's mother and brothers and sisters are mentioned as living during the time of his ministry, his father Joseph is not. So, it's not unreasonable to conclude that Joseph died before Jesus began his ministry. If that is true, then Jesus had to suffer through watching his father die at a time when he could not use his "super-powers" (Holy Spirit) to save Joseph.
Jesus would have suffered as any child would in watching his father die.
There is no question that God provided an exceptionally warm and loving human father for Jesus. You must know that Mary was a wonderful mom, why wouldn't Joseph be a wonderful dad ?
So, what specific lesson in obedience would Jesus have learned through this specific suffering ?
Jesus knew his destiny, ministry, and abilities he would have later in life, Jesus knew the Scriptures.
So, it is not hard to imagine Jesus begging God for the ability to heal his human dad...... prematurely....
It would be impossible for Jesus not to !
But Jesus had not yet received holy spirit (baptism).
So, would Jesus learn to obediently respect the Timing of God's arrangements ? Would Jesus learn that you always have to do the right thing, even when it hurts like hell? (oops, did I say hell ? sorry)
And when He had to endure/suffer the presence of Judas and never show contempt, He learned to always obey the principle of 'principled love'. And never show by his attitude or actions even the desire to wish Judas or anyone ill.
A careful look at Jesus and his life will reveal many such "sufferings" and what he "obediently" learned.
Can you think of some ?

This is not a Dress-Rehearsal, this is our real life. This is the life we will be judged on.
Makes it a little more serious, huh ?

Is Satan allowed to do genetic engineering on Humans ?
Yes, he already has; the hybrid offspring of humans and angels before the flood.
Which are NOT the Nephilim.
Nephilim is just the Biblical term for Giant Humans. Period.
Note carefully what the Bible says in Gen 6:4:
"There
were giants [Nephilim]in the earth in those days; and
also
after
that when
the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare
[children] to them, the same [became] mighty men which [were] of old,
men of renown. "
(KJV)
When
you use the terms in a sentence "and" "also" and
"after that", you
are referring to two separate groups,
it is triply
redundantly emphasized
here.
In
fact, Nephilim are mentioned long
after the flood.
see Num 13:33. The promised land was LOADED with giants, yah couldn't
swing a dead cat without hittin' one, see also Deut 2:10, Deut 3:11

Ahem.....
So, who were the hybrid Angel/Human offspring ?
Today
we call them Neanderthals, now, hear me out before you have a
cow.
Scientists
are very puzzled, very puzzled I say, by the DNA of Neanderthals, it
ain't like nuttin' else. See here,
and here.
Isn't that what you would expect from a hybridized offspring from
Humans and Angels ?
And
now the bad news: by studying the fossil remains of Neanderthal
teeth it appears that they reached full adult maturity in anywhere
from
7 to fourteen years,
and were MUCH stronger than humans, yikes ! here
and here
Doesn't
it make sense that there would be fossil remains of the Angel/Human
hybrid offspring ?
Just
a note; their appearance was similar to the Character "Shrek";
normal height, thick-set, large cranium, very powerful. Not giants
height-wise but very
powerful,
thus "men of
renown".

Does
Nature reveal the Nature of God ?
Not
necessarily.
If
it is true that Satan can do Genetic Engineering on Humans, how much
more so on animals ?
And
as "The God of this World" (2 Cor 4:4) it would come as no
surprise that he would modify this world to reflect his values.
So,
when you see a gentle animal being ravaged by a predator, you are not
seeing "The Nature of God" reflected in nature.
(Doesn't
Romans 8:22 say 'All
Creation is
groaning together'?)
In
fact Genesis tells us of a much different "Nature of Nature":
"And
I have given every
green plant as food for
all
the wild animals,
the birds in the sky, and the small animals that scurry along the
ground—everything that has life."-NLT
So,
where can you See and find the Nature of God ?
In
the Bible and from his Spirit. Everything else is
Suspect.

Shared
Custody.
1John
5:19 "the
whole world lies in the power of the evil one".
Romans
13:4 "The
authorities are God's servants, sent for your good. But if you are
doing wrong, of course you should be afraid, for they have the power
to punish you. They are God's servants, sent for the very purpose of
punishing those who do what is wrong."
Sounds
like a contradiction to me.
Solution:
As
unpleasant as it sounds, Satan and God have Shared Custody of Mankind
and the Earth. (creepy huh ?)
After
Man was rejected by God in the Garden, Satan did some 'Dumpster
Diving', and harvested what God had thrown out: i.e. Adam, Eve, Their
Children, Dominion of Animals etc. etc.
Those
were things that were the property of Adam.
But
Got did not throw out His Own property
i.e.
His Kingship, His Government, Some property rights, etc. etc.,
thus He retained a degree of Governmental control and limited
property rights. Hence we see otherwise inexplicable conundrums such
as Kings sometimes doing Satan's bidding, and sometimes God's
bidding.
Examples:
Nebuchadnezzar, Cyrus, Darius, etc.
Remember:
it's all about the perfection of God's Law, and hence, like any legal
battle, it can be messy and have irregular boundaries.
A
bit awkward, yes

Roving
about the Earth and Walking about in it.
"From
roaming about on the earth and walking around on it."
Job
1:7 NASB KJV and others.
Why
Roaming AND Walking about in it ? Well "roaming" (Strong's
H7751) refers more to travel but H1980 can refer literally to
walking. So, not only did Satan "Patrol" (NLT) the earth,
but apparently he materialized and literally walked about in it .
It would seem quite likely that his recommendation to fellow Angels
to come to earth and have sex with women was based on personal
experience (reasonable speculation here). And so when their hybrid
offspring died at the flood a perpetual mourning celebration
honouring their dead wives and children was instituted on the
anniversary of the Flood of Noah's day, i.e. Cheshvan
17. (Gen 7:11)
Of
course you're probably more familiar with the name "Halloween"......
